ACCSCT Approval: →

In April 2004, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) nationally accredited CIT. This is, by far, the greatest milestone in the colleges' history. This process took over 2 years and involved numerous individuals and various agencies throughout the United States.

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) reviews and accredits private institutions of higher education. The primary purpose of the Commission is to establish and maintain high educational standards and ethical business practices among its accredited institutions.

Accreditation is a means of assisting private career schools and colleges to become better by setting standards against which all private career school and colleges can be measured. Participation in this process was strictly voluntary on the part of CIT.

The Standards of Accreditation (Standards) constitute the basic document of the accreditation process, forming the essential base against which a school studies and evaluates itself. A compromise of the integrity of the Standards is considered to be an extreme offense. Accredited schools agree to, and must meet or exceed, the Standards at the time of initial accreditation and throughout the accreditation period.
